Formula for calculation of creasing channels and creasing rules
designed for material thickness of 0.020 – 0.051 inch
Also available for cardboard!
Legend:
A = crease depth
B = crease width
c = material thickness
d = creasing rule width
g = creasing rule height
e = thickness of compressed material
The thickness of compressed material (e) of the corrugated board determines the creasing rule height:
A = e
B = (e x 2.0) + d
g = f – e
f = 0.937 inch
(e) Results for compressed material thickness 0.031 inch
Optimum values are backed with yellow.
(A) | Channel Depth: | 0.031 inch |
(B) | Creasing Channel Width with Creasing Rule of 0.028 inch / 2 pt: | 0.091 inch |
(B) | Creasing Channel Width with Creasing Rule of 0.041 inch / 3 pt: | 0.106 inch |
(g) | Creasing Rule Height: | 0.906 inch |
You will find the size 0.8 × 2.7 mm at CITO
